TuesDaze: A Playlist

Tuesday, yet again. After another classic weekend of debauchery, our minds are torn as to whether we should keep the energy going, or take some time to chill out. Music seems to be the only thing that can serve both my need for tranquility but also the fuel to carry on. I’ve compiled a short list of tracks that will help to ease the pain of existence (jk).

As always, feel free to tweet us out if you have any tracks that deserve our attention!

Enjoy.

The Tuesday Blues [A Playlist]

Is it the weekend yet?

Worry not! We’ve got a dank playlist of tunes to get you through the week. Tons of experimental synth lines in here to feast your ears upon as well as a new one from the Golden Pony – one of my all-time favorite house duo’s from NYC! So tasty. Most of these tunes area available for free download!

Alina Baraz & Galimatias – Show Me (LOKI X Wildfire FLIP)

LOKI and Wildfire have been in the kitchen, cooking up some chill-ass vibes for you guys. Glad this one popped into my feed this morning – my Monday morning was looking pretty bleak otherwise!

Though Wildfire and LOKI are known for creating smooth but large bass heavy sounds, this remix is a bit of a departure; the rhythmic polyphonic chords allow a lot of space in the mix which helps the melody to shine loud and clear over top of Alina’s beautiful vocals.

Though the download is labelled as “Buy” you can grab it for free, as always, via Soundcloud.

The Knocks – Best For Last Ft. Walk The Moon (PINEO & LOEB Remix)

Always on point with the huge retro / electro vibes, Pineo & Loeb are back with another unique take on a beauty track by the Knocks.

Laden with guitar-work, vocoder voices, deep synth lines and other sexy sounds, P&L have taken this track to a whole new level. The genre-bending duo will likely have lots of room for live instrumentation while playing this one live – they’ve been known to go so far as bring a full band including hip hop MC out at their live shows, so I’m more than stoked to find out what they’ve got in store for us this summer.

Hailed as a “Beat chopping, sample hunting duo. Channeling a pair of funky black guys from the 80s”, they surely live up to their hype. Check out the new remix, I’m sure you’ll enjoy:

Evangeline – My Kingdom (DEVAULT Remix)

DEVAULT is hands down one of our favourite up-and-comer future bass artists. This brand new remix is no exception to our infatuation, in fact. Capitalizing on the sultry vocals of Evangeline in this bass heavy anthem of a remix, DEVAULT has captured and re-released an energetic aspect of this original tune that wouldn’t be obvious without his skill.

Enjoy this huge flip; and cop the free download as usual!

“DEVAULT is a 19 year old trap artist from Los Angeles, California. Known for his forward thinking sound and music designed to mix emotion with the right amount of dance floor energy, Fresh off a performance in front of 5000 screaming fans in Cancun, DEVAULT is quickly emerging in the SoCal scene along with climbing the ranks of the future music world. DEVAULT is currently releasing with Hebinomichi and scaling additional labels.”

NGHTMRE drops funky new single and remix contest!

One of my favourite festival headliners is back this week with a very unique spin on his trademark trap style – going for a more “future bass” / “future funk” styled groove with this new single titled Holdin’ On To Me.

Giving back to his following of naturally prescribed beat makers, DJ’s and artists, he is also hosting a remix contest in conjunction with WAVO and Mad Decent! Any artist who may be interested to enter can look forward to having their track reposted by NGHTMRE himself as well as both the WAVO and Mad Decent crews. Quite a dream for any aspiring producer.

Check it out and enjoy!

“This was the first time I ever felt influenced to write vocals and sing on my own song. I wrote this track while I was at home in North Carolina last year and am really happy with how it turned out.” – NGHTMRE

Sunday Funday

Another weekend gone by, but the fun doesn’t have to end here. Let’s wean off of the excitement together with an upbeat playlist curated to fill the unrelenting party-void in your life. Today I’ll be featuring a number of up and comers and a brand new Wet Paint track.

Check it out and try to keep up!

Big Gigantic – The Little Things (feat. Angela McCluskey)

Big Gigantic have been on my radar for quite some time now. I’ve watched their sound evolve from classic festival dubstep vibes into a more complex and unique future bass / funk / electro hybrid. Their newest release is no exception to this; it’s fucking amazing.

Bringing a heavy hitting RnB / soul vocalist by the name of Angela McCluskey onboard for the release, the live instrumentation of their concert performance has suddenly transformed the entire idea of Big Gigantic into an electro-orchestral banger of a party. I wish they’d roll through my neck of the woods; they’d be a perfect fit for Evolve Music Festival.

Enjoy this new tune and as always, grab that free download!

Lost Kings (ft. Katelyn Tarver) – You (Proppa Remix)

Good vibes are in full swing over at the Audisbliss HQ in Chicago. Their resident house producer Proppa has just come through in full stride with a remix of homies the Lost Kings, just in time for Springtime fun.

I don’t always listen to deep / house / electro or much of four-on-the-floor anything; but when I do, it’s always Proppa.
