NGHTMRE drops funky new single and remix contest!

One of my favourite festival headliners is back this week with a very unique spin on his trademark trap style – going for a more “future bass” / “future funk” styled groove with this new single titled Holdin’ On To Me.

Giving back to his following of naturally prescribed beat makers, DJ’s and artists, he is also hosting a remix contest in conjunction with WAVO and Mad Decent! Any artist who may be interested to enter can look forward to having their track reposted by NGHTMRE himself as well as both the WAVO and Mad Decent crews. Quite a dream for any aspiring producer.

Check it out and enjoy!

“This was the first time I ever felt influenced to write vocals and sing on my own song. I wrote this track while I was at home in North Carolina last year and am really happy with how it turned out.” – NGHTMRE

King Deluxe – Creating a God

CREATING-A-GOD Great new multi media project/contest put forth by King Deluxe Records. Creating a God will require the skill of a writer and a musician. All entries are due in by February 15th.

To kick off the new year we thought we’d host another competition, this time for our 2999 project. In which we normally begin with the musician soundtracking the year 2999 and then pair them up with visual artists to bring these concepts to life.

This time though we thought we’d switch it around and start off with an illustration from Santiago Vecino titled “Creating a God.”

For this piece we’re looking for original interpretations of Santiago’s piece, music that has little anchor in our time but still has some elements of melody and rhythm, however alien.

The most fitting track will be chosen to join the ranks of Slugabed, Strangeloop, Raffertie, Krumble, I.D., Jason Forrest, Peter Popken and many others that have contributed already. You have until Friday, February 15th to complete and submit your work to our soundcloud group…

soundcloud.com/groups/creating-a-god

Get creative! Play around with form, with texture, customize every sound in your composition so that you end up with something truly unique. Also, for the writers out there, we’re going to crowdsource the narration as well. So if you believe you know what exactly is going on in this scene, please send us a paragraph or two. Intriguing but concise. We can hardly wait to hear and read what people come up with.
