One place in Vancouver reminds me of this title, a spot just in front of an office building where the pavement has been indented from people hitting pavement after swan diving off the Burrard Bridge. On the other hand the production is clear and crisp to a point where you forget about everything else you’ve heard all day. Howl Sound has been representing the sounds of Vancouver’s underground for some time since the two parts merged after some time working separately. ‘Bridge Dive’ is a prime example of how they’ve been doing it. File under Deep House.

SKMB Compilation Vol. 1

Fellow #Vancouver blog crew extraordinaire SKMB released their first compilation to date last month. Yes yes, we’ve been sleeping. Ten full tracks of New Disco and House from Vancouverites, friends and contributors alike make up the released to sum up in perpetuity the blogs taste and sound. The list is long of standouts, but of the standouts to standout is WATSN’s ‘Manson’ because it takes a large bite into the deep n’ dark alone. Check all these guys out as they are going great things in each of their respective scenes.

Vancouver is ablaze with new music, fiyah! Everyone is already feeling the burn of Bass Coast (Aug 1-4) & Shambhala (Aug 8-11). Both festivals will be featuring WoodHead & S2 together as Clyphs. Like Stylust Beats they debuted the new material pre fest to incorproate into their live sets. It’s a beautiful thing. They too have enlisted a wide and talented array of producers in House, Techno & Future Bass to groove things in a great many directions. ‘Voices Remixed’ out on Homebreakin Records and available for purchase on Juno.
