Here is a combination that certainly works: Canadian production weight meeting UK grime delivery, released through a Victoria label that has quietly become one of the more consistent homes for this kind of cross-pollination on the West Coast. “Breathe” marks the first single from Mirage’s debut album Origins, released on the Victoria, BC-based label Dubversified Culture. The track brings together three distinct voices: Victoria’s own Mirage, Canadian bass producer Abstrakt Sonance, and UK grime MC Grim Sickers.
