Canadian Footwork Vol. 1

a3601970873_10 A new Canadian series makes it’s debut with artists spanning this vast country. At times it does feel like Footwork is a forgotten form. Good to see Canadians keeping yet another genre moving and growing. Of course the Philthkids have a place on the compilation. They may be the West Coasts latest and greatest contribution to Footwork. The release as a whole is made available for a modest seven dollars.

Moscillate – A Sense Of Calm

It must be cool down time for somebody out there now. It is certainly here. And as it so happens Nizhny Tagil, Russia’s Moscillate has just the right stuff for such an occasion. Presumably a he, holds expertise in Future and Hip Hop Instrumentals. Definitely get familiar with this one. I’ve included a couple extras as ‘A Sense Of Calm’ will tide you away from bed.

Funkystepz – Kings Cross EP

Funkystepz is a trio that belongs to an expanding group of producers combining UK Garage, House and Bass elements. The combinations results are testament to their name. Through four40records comes the ‘Kings Cross’ EP containing a four track ensemble suited for any late night tastes. You can purchase the release at your leisure on Juno Download.

Drake – 0 To 100 (ALL GOLD REMIX)

What was most displeasing about the 0 To 100 drop was the two separate but attached tracks. The first six minutes (0 To 100) was strong enough on it’s own. Others were quick to realize this and thus, remixes ensued. Amongst these artists were San Diegos ALL GOLD. Trap is the direction they took.

Sietta – Such Desire (Paces Remix)

What I love most about the Gold Coast’s Paces is his genre melding. We’ve got the Jersey with his always tasteful touches of Tropical xylophone. The remix is an offical and appears on the ‘Carry’ EP of Sietta and can be purchased on iTunes.

Route 94 – My Love (Bozu Remix)

Ough, a real jem came through a few days ago. A dark, “atomospheric”, trap drum riddled remix of one of the years early on Deep House hits. The mood is so thick through and through it’s deserved of it’s own visuals. Mood collectors and setters should consider a download.

Quad City DJ’s – C’mon Ride That Train (KReamix)

Throwback OG status. Many of us know the Space Jam OST in and out, these Rnb times have brought it back for many. Half of St. Louis’ KReam Team went back for a re-visit to Quad City’s most successful. This choo-choo is all Future. Hit dem switches.

Xian & Gaszia- LUST feat. Rob Mitchell

Xian & Gaszia’s ongoing collaboration has proven longevity. Their compatibility shines time and time again. Rarely does the pair feature others, let alone vocalists, but the shine shines on, even as new ground is broken. Sex is a drug.

You can grab the instrumental version from the From the Feel/You EP.

TroyBoi – Misunderstood feat. Father Dude

Hegemon AIA Artist Collective member TroyBoi has certainly been making rounds. Appearing all over EDM.com with also various Trap network support for obvious reasons. The distinguishable sound of his productions are steadily becoming sought after on the cloud. And long side the familiarity grows the selection, ‘Misunderstood’ features fellow collective member and Smokey Robotic rapper/lyricist/dreamer/ Father Dude.
