Last month brought Tokyo’s HVNS ‘Chrome’ EP to light. Three tracks of dark club fusion with signs of Techno, Future Funk and plain dirty bass music. Chrome, Demi and Shine all touch on their own piece of the spectrum, showcase some serious versatility and skill from HVNS, as well as being just solid tracks. Cop the whole EP for the free.
Global Bass is a sub-genre that gets floated around fairly often. Not so much by one artist consistently, it’s festival grade but the energy is just hard to match up over and over. Which leaves us with massive tracks here and there. Maybe a handful a year or so. Here is one of them, for 2k16 ahead of a collab EP on Sup Girl Records, British Columbia’s Gl0bal and Mexico’s Josue Reyes hit us with the first single. Available for free only until the 20th ‘Soundboy’ features the massive drums needed for a Global Bass hitter, elephants, and simply the energy to put a crowd on its ass. Git while the gittin is good.
It’s weird to say, but this is dank in the chill. Dan Bravo & WNDR spill out a clean, chill, summer easy and G-Funk esq official remix ready for ear to dome consumption. File under House, Chill af, or some kind of Future G-Funk mixed race baby. Cop it Here.
Lucian has shared the final piece of his debut EP ‘Forevr’ as a free download. Alike the rest of the release the track features an original vocal performance, and Sleeper joins him for the second time. Dislike the rest of the release ‘Drift’ stands out as the most triumphant piece of Future music. And again alike the rest of the EP it has been made available for free download.
And now for a West Coast wobble moment. A Glitch Hop / Breaks hybrid released by way of Gravitas Recordings from the ‘Revolution’ Remixes EP of France’s CloZee. Enjoy ill.Gates’ here and check the rest of the collection HERE.
A dirty new and erie with classical touch fresh from Indonesia. Inspired by the Japanese culture producer Zehan found a deep place to emit vibes like this from. Free download for the masses.
London producer oshi and D∆WN Richard join the star studded list of the Yours Truly and Adidas originals #songsfromscratch with ‘Lemonade Lakes’ . In a very Kaytranada esq. manner oshi keeps things very cool while D∆WN completes the summer night feel.

I think it’s high time we talk about Bob Moses, the Vancouver-born duo that’s catching fire internationally for their unique mix of crooning vocals, layered instrumentals and nuanced electronic production. “Understated” is the word that comes to mind. It’s a cute story too: High school friends Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance reconnected five years ago in New York City over a shared disillusionment with New York’s nightlife, and started making music together soon after. Thier debut album, Days Gone By, was released last September to widespread acclaim.
“Instead of just mixing a bunch of favourite records together, we like to fiddle around and cut things up; new ideas, samples and inspiration always come out of the process for us. It always feels like the beginning of our creative process, and it’s a way to rethink our own music.” – Bob Moses on their Boiler Room set
Newcomer ANIML kicks off his new moniker with a huge career opening track. A massive Trap x Future dare I say banger? unregrettably so. Somebody come forward with a better single word to suite tracks of this calibre. With an opening appreacen like this we can’t wait to see what’s next from this part time Vancouverite.
