Truth, Stylust – Closer

New Zealand legends TRUTH have released their anticipated Sandman EP, and the track “Closer” featuring Canadian bass don Stylust is a standout journey into deep, trappy dubstep territory.

Stylust, BROSBA – Fiesta Dub

At 140 BPM, “Fiesta Dub” sits squarely in the sweet spot of modern dubstep and grime, adopting a classic “stepper” rhythm perfect for the dancefloor. But what makes it truly stand out is the fusion of styles.

The “Fiesta” in the title isn’t just for show. The track is built around what reviewers have called “latin-inspired chops,” using rhythmic percussion and syncopated vocal stabs that evoke a lively, almost carnival-like atmosphere. This melodic energy, however, is quickly subverted by the core DDD sound: a truly “ruthless” and driving bassline. It’s a perfect sonic duality: a bright, infectious groove contrasted with a heavy, reverberating sub-bass foundation designed to shake sound systems to their core.
