Not even a new year could move us on from R&B / Alt R&B (don’t call it that). Not to knock it, it’s almost all good. Like this remix right here. It’s by two 17yo UK producers paired that go by the name of JAW, and in their Twitter profile pic look a tad like those Disclosure kids. Hopefully looks, however similar to Disclosure and productions like this further them to similar success.

I just came across this very interesting artist known as Hannah Diamond from UK. Her style is like a mix of somewhere between trap, pop and “Ponponpon” by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

You might hate it at first but give it a second to suck you in and be stuck with you for the rest of the day.

Cosmo’s Midnight – Goodnight

The story of Cosmo’s Midnight is a modest one. This DJ duo was created the night Pat & Cosmo started what would become their night-owl’s routine of mixing tunes from midnight till 5 AM. The Sydney-hailing twin brothers’ distinct style is now emerging with recent single “The Dofflin” and double released tracks “Goodnight” and “Moshi”. Make sure to check out their EP “Surge” if you like what you hear.

I’m itching to hear these guys live but unfortunately they’re sticking close to home for now.

A Moment For: The Blunt Sinatras

The Blunt Sinatras met some time ago in Boston at a rlease. Their sets lined up one after the other coincidentally and DJ Homewrecker being himself began to MC Moduloktopus’s set. Together the two made an impression on the audience and from there the events of the evening blossomed into a very real partnership as these things often do.

And now the fifth and final track from the ‘Turnt EP’ ,and final step in our build towards our Mix volume 19, released on Club Tapes and available for free download in full.

Three days ago it was the birthday of Moduloktopus. To celebrate the day and to give “love back as we mature in age” as an essential part of life the first single from his upcoming ‘Reworktopus’ album say it’s first day. Based on the nature of the song I would have to guess that the track appears early on in the release. Given the gift giving has gone in the opposite direction the sound is mighty generous.
