StoneAlice – Breathe On (prod. kubrixXx & kevin james)

artworks-000089236801-tanjr1-t500x500
Two high profile directors would have large media presence guiding them through their break into production. One would think. Especially when one of whom has been dead for fifteen full years. Twenty fourteen has been a big year for from death comebacks; Tupac n’ Kubrick, kubrixXx. But na, they both really dead. The two producers of France’s StoneAlice latest are a Columbian duo who bare very open senses of humour as well as love for experimental production, just outside, or within (it’s hard to place at time’s) the realms of Hip Hop. File under #ExperimentalHipHopPop

Sasha – Baja (Wigzen ReVision)

artworks-000089944032-je1sc9-t500x500
In terms of archives my early on collection is mostly CD’s. From the times I would sift through CD stores massive alphabetical sections. S always being a safe bet on a couple of finds. Nu metal and all things similar as per allmusic.com’s all knowing similar artists section were what those times were about. The electronic of the 90’s was just border-lining my musical interest at the time. So when Wigzen call out a throwback like ‘Baja’ it has me ponderin. Well verse in music history to look back to DJ Sasha for a revision? How deep does the record crate go? #ProgressiveZen

turan – Alive

It’s like I always say, when in doubt about the state of music, never mind the genre, one can look to the UK for a whole new take. Their diversity differs from ours in so many ways. Intellectual, storey telling lyricism being a predominant difference in abundance. Turan or, discoverturan on socials is one such rapper/lyricist furthering music with upwards of fifteen hundred word vocabulary. His ‘Persistence of Memory’ EP is nearing release quickly, from which ‘Alive’ is the third track. Featuring production from Lunar Vale as well as spoken word from turan touching on perceived realities that humans tend to focus our energy on makes it a must listen. The soft yet drastic difference between the two is subtly tremendous.

For The Foxes – Easy Way (LoftyLows Edit)

artworks-000090088915-k85xw0-t500x500
Has Indie melded into the Chill Trap genre? Officially anywhere? LoftyLows of ____ may just be single handedly spearheading something here. With but one clear Future Bass exception the catalog expresses a clear love for a genre. Indie Dance doesn’t quite fit..

brainbheats – RMXTPE Volume 2

artworks-000089777414-7dcgiv-t500x500 Having tracklists provided are a convenience we take for granted. It’s good practice for the artists, but there is the other side of being engaged by listeners through PM’s that yield similar, or to some, more engagement. To the fortune of MP3 hounds archives more and more artists have gone to lengths as far as compiling all tracks included in mixes into playlists, fewer have stretched to mix only free downloads. And those are the pay dirt for hounds. Louisville based brainbheats ‘RMXTPE Volume 2’ includes only his own remixes and has all or each available for download HERE.

Standout track: 5. Bombs Over Reykjavic (Outkast x Sigur Ros)

Two Chapel Sound heads together are capable of a great many things. How these cats went about the flip make it a ripe tune to cruise to. Could go real nice somewheres around Still Dre or Next Episode in ur playlist. It feels bout that level of G n’ chill. Give both the dudes a follow.

Redlight – 9TS (Lost Hustle Remix)

artworks-000089753358-zfu2tm-t500x500
A huge move on Redlights 90’s baby jam. South Hamptons Lost Hustle even snuck in a little exerpt of their own personal favourite 90’s tracks, ‘Far Out’ by Sunz to complete the look. It’s dark and Uk ravey, and full on House. DJ’s interested in copy for play are encouraged to email the crew.

Sam Smith – Money On My Mind (sergioisdead Remix)

artworks-000089807125-1l5oh5-t500x500
Heads up off the get go, your not reading legible letters of a Sam Smith fan. Whiney male pop isht don’t fly far. sergioisdead salvaged a song otherwise left by the wayside by taking the whole thing back to an easy lean chill Trap place. Vocals adjusted to Alt R&B over the latter pre pubescent whine makes this the 20 million view worthy.
