The best new New Disco cat to come out Raincouver, Kalibo, has just released his first video. To the new single? ‘Take Me’ , a couple seemingly worlds apart struggle communicating with one-another, even through a Ragu pasta dinner. Though the end has resolve for the couple the viewer is lead to believe there is a third party involved. Great video, great apartment location.

Back somewhere between or before DFA1979 and Electro’s burst out of the EU acts like KMFDM, MDFMK, MSI, Chombichrist were best representing Electronic. All very Industrial. And this particular track scored many plays/repeats making it instantly recognizable, an excellent revival choice for Halloween.

Landing just in time after an in depth picking apart of Gramatiks music for the samples that make his music known and loved is this whole free album. Glitch and Mid Tempo tend to shore the sidelines of my weekly or monthly listening. It’s a sample heavy genre capable of incorporating so many other genres, which is a huge reason Electronic is as easy to enter one’s listening repertoire as it is. Chicago’s Manic Focus knows this and has enough taste to do it well. This, his new album contains plenty of Glitch, Trap and many other genres to expand your mind chillingly.

I’ve posted about Nick Moods from Rotterdam before, but he deserves more attention because his music is so incredibly good at what it’s trying to do, which is capture a mood and crystallize it in sound. The track above, Nights On The Roof, could be blasted from any rooftop during one of October’s icy, tumultuous nights, or maybe on a street corner in the rain, with a jazz band accompanying it. You could be listening to this track and missing home, or somebody that you love. I don’t really know how to describe it, which is pretty weak coming from someone who’s supposed to be blogging about music, but I’d like to call that ineffable quality a sign of real talent (I swear that’s a compliment, not a cop-out… really!).
Love is Real was the song that brought Moods to my attention. Doesn’t it kind of just make you feel like… love… is real? #dammit
