Brian Folk – The Subject

Talk about tugging heart strings. Brian Folk has been one to make heartfelt beats but this is just ridiculous. ‘The Subject’ is one of ten tracks on his ‘Circle Wok’ EP with Shimmy Records out of the UK. The release is available in full at a “name your price” rate HERE.

Young Braised – Murakami

Reaching back into the archives of 1080p I found the ‘Murakami’ gem featured in FC Mix vol 14 by Dream Dior. Really wish “punani tsunami” had been a more widespread club phrase last year. The track is free and the whole ‘Japanese Tendencies’ album is available for digital purchase HERE.

Four40 Records – Chapter One

We’ve been sharing a couple of Birmingham Uk’s Four40 Records signee tunes as of late. You might recall the name Hybrid Theory. ‘Chapter One’ is the labels first complimentary compilation EP that comes chalk full of Bass House derivatives. The compilation is available in full for free download despite Soundclouds new player not providing a visible link.

East Van Digital – EVD Bass 3

Firmly planted #Vancouver label showcases it’s solidarity in the bass West Coast Bass music scene with four of it’s signees that shake the coast. Four genres of Bass music are represented by one artist each in ‘Bass 3’ . ill-esha providing Glitch Hop, Bass Coast Festival co-founder The Librarian riding the Dub, Lighta! crew member Self Evident moving Footwork, then 22:22 summing it all up by pushing Dubstep. You can purchase the full release on Beatport.

Ice Underlord – Down On Me (Avalanche Edition)

A one sixty bpm number brought down to chill vibes with an excellent vocal sample. Go dumb. #ItsAllOnMe

Sound Strider – Intrepid Travels EP

Who doesn’t want to rave it up at a 30 000 person Freetekno party at a refurbished castle in the Loire Valley? If ‘reconnecting with your transcendental roots’ sounds like one hell of a fun time to you, then perhaps one of Sound Strider’s French techno festivals is in order. Until then, you’ll have to settle for this glitchy, IDM-influenced EP which was inspired by the psychedelic culture depicted in Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test. Stream it here on Soundcloud, and you can download for free or by donation as well.

Find Sound Strider on Bandcamp and Twitter.

Bozu – Just Another Dalek

This being a debut EP, I’ve decided to leave you with the official write up as it sums up the release quite well:

‘Never Odd Or Even’ is the Concrete Plastic label debut for North London-based producer Bozu.
This is an EP of two halves, with the first three tracks a mix of beat led brashness, but
the second three tracks more into atmospheric electronic territory.

Streams and purchase link for the EP, HERE.
