Shambhala Digital – The 2014 Showtime Compilation
It’s official, Shambhala has flexed out it’s new label leg into the digital world. Now the farmily can spread itself throughout Western Canada’s booming music culture year round. Released officially just hours the left in the day preceding the opening of the gates for 2014. The compilation contains so much of what Shambhala has embodied for many years. Glitch, Dubstep, Bass, Funky House, Mid Tempo and just so much more. A track for everyone also captivating each stages own place within as a whole. Local standouts include Ryan Wells, Taal Mala, Pigeon Hole, Kline, The Funk Hunters, Neighbor & Spiltmilk together, Moontricks of Smokey Crow Records & the winners of the Aufect Recordings Sound The Alarm Remix Competition, Ethos & Sullust. Too much to listen for at the festival, not to mention what this means for for all the producers in the region.
The Shambhala Music Festival begins tomorrow (Aug. 8th) and ends Monday August 11th.

Aufect Recordings is supplying the tools for producers to win the Shambhala 2014 remix competition. Two tracks engineered by a handfull of the coasts most active in Bass Music. Competitors can choose between or select both tracks offered (below). The details are as such:

This years title track up for remix is ‘Sound the Alarm’ by HxdB and DJ Cure, featuring MC ThinkTank. An absolute genre-bending half-time 165 bpm killer, we can’t wait to see what you come up with…. Our second track up for remix, ‘Ordinateur’ produced by Philthkids is an old-school, electro inspired, ghetto-house original.

Opening the month long East Van Digital take-over of our weekly mix series is Vancouver’s own Hxdb. After a few copywrite issues with soundcloud we decided Hxdb would be a strong lead in this series within the series. Hxdb, pronounced Hexadecibel holds a strong reputation as one of the city’s most known musically forward thinkers. The West Coast Bass is strong with this one and his hard work over the years in many facets of the music world has given him a groomed knowledge of the scene. A knowledge best heard within this mix.

One of #Vancouver ‘s most influential and active producers/dj/performer in the bass music scene explains in full, quite clearly and accurately the state of the citys goings on in terms of live music and the difficulties the scene faces. It means something huge to have someone working and fueling the scene to say something, especially now that a much broader audience is available to him.
