Mojo Goro – Crop Circles

a1681643653_10

In his latest the UK based Mojo Goro has engulfed the Mood Unit release in one aesthetic,  and for lack of better word, mood. Entirely living up to all pre expectations of extra terrestrial with sounds like ‘Crop Circles’ , which can be interpreted as the beat of an invasion march. Then ‘Secret DNA Activation Centre’ is reminiscent of the X-Files opening theme. If Science Fiction were indeed a genre of music Mojo Goro would have mastered it some time ago. All five tracks are available for two Euros via Bandcamp.

Justin Timberlake – My Love (Pigeon Hole Remix)

JT - Press Photo 2 (Credit Tom Munro RCA R.JPG
Was never convinced of JT’s bringing of anything to the table musically.. even sexiness. What was needed was a bold and humorous infusion of Patrick Swayze & Pigeon Hole to bring sexyback to a floor. Watch the video for full Swayze & cop the DL from ₵OL!И.

Cobra Krames – ODB Paradise

Print
Two of Rap’s most famous corn roll havers tend to get little to no attention in the remix world. This day and age at least. Brookyln’s Cobra Krames hadn’t forgot and sought to medernize both Coolio & ODB into out ass bouncing day and age. After all, both Rappers did love them some booty.

Entries to the Xian x Gazia Remix contest have been stacking up. Our mix volume 3 curator put forth his signature Trap steeze in a lush make over of ‘Feel’ . Show some support for this one.

Ekali X The Oneiroscopist – Minutes feat. VZNS

artworks-000064302624-461i04-original
We’ve got some post genre ALT R&B on our hands here from three #Vancouver based producers. It appears as though Ekali and The Oneiroscopist provided the production whilst VZNS lay down the vocals. All and all the collab came out a swimming success, you might just get lost in it.

We The Wild – Body Electric (Blue) (Lovelife Remix)

Volume1
Alt Pop UK band, We The Wild are going about their push of their full debut EP ‘Vol. 1’ . The single and track two from the release ‘Body Electric (Blue)’ is doing very well on the Hype Machine charts. And after a listen you’ll see why. UK / LA based Lovelife remixed the track real nice like in support.

Steph’s Picks:

First up is STWO with his remix of JMSN’s  The One. STWO has been on our radar for quite a while now and has been posted on SKMB several times by a few of our contributors. STWO consistently releases quality remixes of some of our favourite hip hop and R&B tracks as well as his own originals, keeping things sultry, soulful and somewhat relaxing.

Next up on my most played this month is Amyn & Kill Frenzy’s Hooked. There’s nothing I love more than the sweet sound of a  pounding, bass-driven  house jam with warehousey vibes that you can’t help but shake your ass to. This dirty bird knows what’s up and has been releasing nothing but gold recently.

Finally, we have Banks, who’s beautiful and almost angelic vocals give me goosebumps everytime I hear them, with her true gift shining through  her poetic perspectives on love, life and humanity. The ever so talented songstress has colabborated with such artists as TEED, SOHN and Lil Silva to name a few. I couldn’t choose my favourite song of hers, so I have included the two that I am constantly listening to.

Nick’s Picks:

After shamelessly shazaming one of their songs during Vancouver house n techno staple DJ Siavash‘s set at Cajmere a few weeks back, I’ve been in love with andhim‘s delightfully dancey, yet minimal style of house music.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/112750743″ params=”color=000000&auto_play=false&show_artwork=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

15 seconds into discovering this next track and my roommate and I were shakin our asses in the living room. Rumbling house with a slightly ghetto vibe just really does it for me. If your a house head like myself then it’s likely that you’ve heard this second colab from Marlon Hoffstadt and fellow German producer Dansson. 8 months old and I’m still groovin to both of these. Join me.

Sam’s Picks:

A collaboration between two well known names in B.C.’s music scene Robbie Slade of Humans and Max Ulis have created some real magic under the name Sabota. Smooth textures and baselines will have you hitting replay on any one of their tracks. These guys know how to get the cool kids to dance.

Soul Button while remaining anonymous delivers some of the most soulful house beats I have ever heard. His latest remix of Florain Rietze’s Treibholz track is no exception. A truly groovy track that adds to his already extensive list of brilliant originals and remixes.
