Praise Cats – Shined On Me (Ofenbach Club Remix)

It’s midnight and I am listening to guitar laced house music with soul singing in it. And I am enjoying myself because I finished walking my 3 legged dog which fucking flails on the leash like a salmon up stream. And not gonna lie…the name Praise Cats caught my attention. Ofenbach whipped up this little number for us to drink our dranks to at about 11 pm at the new trendy bar in town.

Cheers cunts.

Moh Flow – All We Need (Us)

When I was younger, I was super hiphoppity. So much so, that admitting to my best friend that I liked Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me A River, was as nerve racking as coming out of the closet would be to a gay person who really tightly shut themself  in said closet.  A decade and a bit passed and now I am PROUD of liking good pop music. ! Yay progress!

That being said, check out the homie Moh Flow this is a good song.

Wolfskind ft. Ashe – Stone Cold Thriller

Sometimes your inbox gets flooded with the sceptic tank of the music industry. Sometimes you click on a link and fucking scream, waking up your dogs and your grandma, then you dry heave. And in a sweaty panic click the play button again to stop what was just happening to so many of your senses. But this time it didn’t happen! This is good. This is not one of those moments. Wolfskind ft. Ashe has not contributed to my trauma, and in fact put a smile on my face, with the song Stone Cold Thriller. Thank you.

Mobley – Solo

Normally I ramble on forever about some bullshit on my posts… Like the time when I tricked my friend into throwing up on the bathroom ceiling by telling him that if he is drunk and can’t throw up but  wants to drink more, he should put his hands on his sides and basically , as fast as he can, bend over and thrust back up , back and forth and back and forth until he shakes up the ol’ tummy and throws up. I told him to do it over the toilet, but didn’t mention the timing.  In effect he threw up on the upturn and your imagination can take it from there.

This song by Mobley is super dope tho!!

Panski – Take Me home , Country Roads (Ellena Soule Cover)

You know what I like as much as I like root canals!? COUNTRY music!  :)

But once in a while it is important to go get one. And once in a while I like to challenge myself to find something I would normally detest and sift through the rubble to find that one gem. (Sort of like dating)

Well this hazy morning I found one that’s all chill and nice! not twangy, talkin’ bout how “my truck broke and my dog’s a lesbian and I ran out of straw for my depressed donkey to eat”.

Panski and Ellena Soule whipped up this little crossover harmonica guitar diddy. Check it out hamsters.

Matt Black – Riot

I once had a homie we called Black Matt. Being Canadian, none of us found it offensive that we called him that since his name was Matt and he was indeed black. I guess the cultural background of USA not being present, made it totally normal for nicknames such as that to exist without them feeling hurtful / discriminatory or weird. My nickname was Wonderbread cos I was so damn white. Well today I came across Matt Black and just had to listen.

The homie Matt Black writes break up songs. Don’t pretend you’re not emotional and give er a play.

I need not say more here.

Rain Man – Bring Back The Summer (INSTRUM Remix) ft. Oly

Remember Rain Man’s split with Krewella? Remember that? hey?

Weeeelllll that is long over and homie is doing the music thing again!!

AND the good lad INSTRUM just laced up this wavy remix of “Bring Back The Summer”  feat. Oly and it’s fuckin’ badass. The track really takes a crazy compositional step near the last quarter as well. I am a fan of this dude’s production. He is pushing that extra 10 percent on the track and I can hear it.  Make sure to go here and VOTE AND SUPPORT. http://bit.ly/1MVnim7

Yes this does make a difference, and yes you count . you are a snowflake. you are special and your hair is like the ocean. – but really though, the artists we appreciate need our support, so all these extra few seconds to click here and there, make all their countless years of clicking on other things to bring us these songs, worth it.

NAWAS – So Low

You want to know what originality sounds like? Well fear not kids! I got you once again!

NAWAS

These Nashville transplants / Louisiana natives are making noise in the circles of majors as well as indies and random fans such as my weird ass self. You know what they’re doing right? (that so many of you musicians are just NOT doing and sending me submissions, only to be cut down with a comment like, “yo why the hell did it take you a minute and a half to get to something catchy and strong!?”) THE SONG STARTS STRONG!! AS STRONG AS MY FATHER’S HANDS! As soon as you click play you’ll know what I am talking about. Dope simple synth and drum intro that jumps right into the hook. You see kids, this is good songwriting. I am definitely going to be keeping an eyeball and ear out.

Shouts out to the producer Sainte and songwriter Luke Foley. Great work fellas.

LABS – Brave

This last week Canada saw the Juno Awards take place, Drake finally becoming interesting and LABS introduce us to their new track ‘Brave‘.  Only one of those things I actually gave a shit about.  You See.. LABS debut single ‘Down‘ has been moving people, and their followup looks like its doing much the same.  ‘Brave‘ is a perfectly low-key chill out track which still holds a momentum that you’d expect form a synth-pop band.  Lindsay Bryan sings her ass off perfectly within the instrumental and briefly contrasts a synth line that appears only once but will give you a nosebleed (in a good way).
